Hello,

Is there a RS template for displaying the latest posts?

Something like the attached?

Thanks,
John

    Hello,

    A bit hard to understand what do you need by the attached screenshot. What 4 text blocks in a blue rectangle do?

    You can place any HTML content in each slide and each thumbnail, so if you have HTML/CSS knowledge - you can put text in each thumbnail - http://help.dimsemenov.com/kb/wordpress-royalslider-tutorials/wp-us...

    Thumbnails container is placed under the slider by default, but you may move and resize it via CSS (.rsNav element).

    Please be more specific on what exactly part you don't know how to implement.

    Hi Dmitry.

    Thank you for the reply.

    Here's a live example of what I'm trying to: https://www.clearygottlieb.com/

    1) The large background image is static and non-changing
    2) The News in the white box is dynamic being fed from the latest site posts.

    What is the best template to start with for a layout like this?

    Any other guidance, suggestions would be appreciated.

    If the background image and the title is static and non-changing, then it's not part of the slider and you'll need to manage it from your theme side.

    To create a carousel with three visible slides at a time and title in each slide:

    • Create posts slider,
    • Click on edit slide markup in general options and replace everything in it with something like: <a href="{{link_url}}">{{title}}</a>. You'll get a title with a link in each slide.
    • Now you may use Nearby Slides options section to reveal multiple slides at a time.

    Ok, thank you. I've created a Posts slider using the following markup and
    its getting closer:

    <div class="rsContent">
      {{html}}
      <div class="rsTmb">
        <h5>{{title}}</h5>
      </div>
      {{animated_blocks}}
      {{#link_url}}
      <a class="rsLink" href="{{link_url}}">{{title}}</a>
      {{/link_url}}
    </div>

    I may not be understanding what you mean by the following as when I replace
    the above mark up with the suggested link markup, it shows blank:

    "Click on edit slide markup in general options and replace everything in it
    with something like: <a href="{{link_url}}">{{title}}</a>. You'll get a
    title with a link in each slide."

    Is there a way to set the current slide or latest post to display in the
    top blank space in the blue box (see attached). So that it looks like this:

    You have full control of HTML content of each slide, if you place {{title}} inside .rsContent element - each slide will display a title.

    Ok, great. I'm getting pretty close now.

    Do you know what that black dash is above the thumbnails to the left? And
    how I can remove it?

    Likely you have caption turned off and it has a blank element in it, check if Global Caption option is enabled.
