I'm trying to add youtube videos to a custom slider.

I've followed the steps here: http://help.dimsemenov.com/kb/wordpress-royalslider-tutorials/wp-how-to-get-youtube-api-key

The layout of the google developer console seems a bit different, but I created new project and got the API key okay, and pasted it in the settings area for RoyalSlider in WP admin.

Next I create a new (custom) slide; and in the popup, on the Image & Video tab; I paste my youtube URL (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6UQXci4b3oM), and under that I just get a message: "Incorrect URL to YouTube video page, or problem with request.".

Any suggestions as to what may be going wrong?

Royal Slider v 3.3.9.
Wordpress is updated (version 5 or so).
Website running on local machine.

    Hello,

This usually means that YouTube API is not configured correctly, you're looking for " YouTube Data API v3" in Google Developer Console.

    • Make sure that API is turned on in Google Dev Console
    • Make sure that API key is not limited by domain, since you're testing from a local machine.

Thank you Dmitry. I'll take a look at that.
