Hi, Dmitry. Is there a bonafide method for overriding the slider's css and php files in a child theme (e.g.: copying themes into the child theme and editing there)? Thanks.

You may create a custom skin http://help.dimsemenov.com/kb/wordpress-royalslider-advanced/wp-add... Or override CSS globally.

Is there something specific that you want to modify?

Just editing the caption styles etc, but thanks for making me aware of this
method. By the way, while I have your attn, Royalslider styles and scripts
aren't showing up in my Wordpress head on the home page although "On home
(front) page" is checked in the Settings. Am I missing something?

Hard to tell, does including on all pages help?

    You may use register_new_royalslider_files method - http://help.dimsemenov.com/kb/wordpress-royalslider-tutorials/wp-in...

Thanks Dmitry, I'm using the Royalslider in a custom homepage PHP template,
just as it would be included in HTML. Does it also have to be "called" via
PHP in order to have its files loaded (it's checked for home page in WP
    backend settings)?

If you checked an option to include files on all pages (from RoyalSlider Settings page) - you don't need to call the function manually.

Otherwise, auto-detection works only for shortcodes and gutenberg block.
