If you could link the RoyalSlider WP edition with NextGen 2.0+ that would be great.
This is a great combo if you have many categories and images - Nextgen is very good for organizing and moving images from one gallery to another, while of course your RoyalSlider is awesome at displaying the images....

    Thanks so much... Fantastic news!
    I had RS js version working with NextGen 1.9 but the move to NG2 changed so much I find it not worth pursuing. So I have a site stuck at Wordpress 3.4 as a result.

    Having a connection between the 2 is going to be big for you I hope!

    if you wish it right now, you may generate the markup by yourself via PHP and initialize slider manually http://dimsemenov.com/plugins/royal-slider/documentation/#basic-usage

    Thanks - but I do not know where to add the code to display it - with version 1.9 I had a folder in my theme called nggallery - NextGen would pickup the gallery.php from there and use it for displaying the images.
    something like:

    <?php if (!defined ("ABSPATH")) die ("No direct access allowed"); ?><?php if (!empty ($gallery)) : ?>
    <div id="gallery-1" class="royalSlider rsDefault">
     <?php foreach ( $images as $image ) : ?>
        <div class="rsContent">
            <?php if ( !$image->hidden ) { ?>
            <a class="rsImg" href="<?php echo $image->imageURL ?>"></a>
            <img class="rsTmb" src="<?php echo $image->thumbnailURL ?>"/>
            <?php } ?>
        </div>
        <?php endforeach; ?>
    </div>
    <?php endif; ?>

    Now it is ignored.
    Also there were issues with Facebook not seeing the images on these pages for use when 'liking' etc.

    So I do not know how to display RoyalSlider with NextGen 2+

    Thanks,
    R

    Hi Dmitry,
    I found this article:
    http://www.nextgen-gallery.com/templates/
    and see now how they changed this:
    Rename “gallery.php” to “gallery-templatename.php”

    To use, use this shortcode: [ nggallery id=1 template=templatename ]

    This now works, but I still think a connection through WordPress is stronger.

    As always, thanks for your assistance.

    @Rob, update is under CodeCanyon review, should be out soon. Can't tell you exact date, but usually it takes 2-4 days.

    Hi,

    Just a heads-up that RoyalSlider now supports NextGEN gallery (both v2.0 and v1.x), update is free, see changelog for details - http://dimsemenov.com/plugins/royal-slider/wp-update/

    Best,
    Dmitry
